Texas Overpopulation
Animal Overpopulation is the largest battle Texas animal welfare organizations are fighting. Due to the large amount of breeders, dumping and lack of spay/neuter practice Texas as a whole is over run by unwanted cats and dogs. In the DFW Metroplex roughly 200,000 animals are euthanized every year. With your help we can lower this number!

Where to start: Spay and Neuter Your Pets!
One of the best ways to prevent overpopulation is to believe in, support, and promote spaying and neutering of all dogs and cats! Not only will this prevent unwanted litters but there are proven health benefits to spaying and neutering your pet. In addition to helping the future health of your pet, spaying/neutering also helps with undesirable behavior, such as aggression.

How else can I help?
Get involved! Adopt! By adopting an animal instead of going to a breeder you are saving multiple lives! How you might ask? Well not only did you provide a safe home for the pet you adopted but you also helped provide funding for a rescue to help another pet. In addition you did not support breeders who often are doing it for financial gain and keep their “breeding” dogs in horrible living conditions. Your adoption also opens up a spot for another animal to be rescued, if that animal comes from a shelter, that opens up a spot for the shelter to help another. This is a domino affect that YOU can help be apart of! Encourage your friends to adopt.
If adoption is not right for you right now, foster, volunteer or donate! Whether you chose to work with us or another organization your impact will be felt. You can change many lives. And you can make a difference for the animals in Texas.
